Privacy Policy

1. Who This Applies To
This Privacy Policy explains what data Color Hunt Together (the "App," "we," "us") collects, why, and what your rights are. It applies to everyone who uses the App, including Guests. By using the App you consent to the practices described here.
2. Information We Collect
Account info: email, username, password (stored securely and hashed — we never see it in plain text), and date of birth (collected once, never editable). Content you create: hunt photos, comments, likes, posts, messages, reports, and profile customization. Location: when you use the Map, your location is used to let you paint nearby cells; when you start a Trial of Nature, location fixes are used to measure distance travelled. Painted cells are publicly visible with your username and a timestamp. Social data includes your friends list and blocks. We store virtual currency, item balances, purchase entitlement status, and technical data such as device type, app version, push notification token, and crash diagnostics. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive the account information that provider shares with your consent. Advertising partners may process device identifiers and usage data for ad delivery and measurement (see Section 6).
3. How We Use Your Information
To operate core gameplay (checking whether your photos match a target color, tracking progress, currency, and streaks); to power social features (friends, messages, posts, comments, the shared map); to keep the App secure (detecting cheating or abuse, enforcing our Terms); to communicate with you (account confirmation emails, support); and, once live, to serve and measure advertising.
4. Who We Share Data With
We don't sell your personal data. We share data with: Supabase, which hosts account data, photos, messages, and gameplay records; Google or Apple when you use their sign-in or store services; RevenueCat for purchase and subscription entitlement management; Firebase Crashlytics for device, app-version, and crash diagnostics; Google Mobile Ads for ad delivery and measurement; OpenStreetMap/OpenFreeMap for map display, which receives map requests and viewport coordinates; other users for content you choose to make public or share with friends; and law enforcement or regulators where legally required.
5. Location Data
Location access is optional and used for the Map and Trials of Nature. The Map checks whether you are near a cell you choose to paint. An active trial uses successive location fixes to calculate distance travelled and stores trial progress so the run can resume after the App is minimized or closed. You can withdraw location permission in device settings and still use the rest of the App. Painting a map cell is public and associates your username and a timestamp with that location.
6. Advertising & Tracking
Third-party advertising partners may collect device identifiers and usage data to serve and measure ads. Where required, the App asks for consent before personalized advertising and uses non-personalized ads when consent is declined or for a user known to be a minor. You can change system-level tracking or advertising choices in your device settings.
7. Data Retention & Account Deletion
We keep your data while your account is active and as otherwise described in this Policy. When you delete your account from Settings, the account and associated profile, hunts, photos, posts, messages, social connections, gameplay records, and other app data are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered. We retain information after deletion only when required for security, fraud prevention, or legal compliance. Copies another person saved outside our systems are outside our control.
8. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, or to object to or restrict certain processing — including under GDPR (EU/UK), CCPA (California), and KVKK (Türkiye, enforced by the Kişisel Verilerin Korunması Kurumu). You can access and edit most of your data directly in the App (profile, privacy settings), export your data isn't currently automated but can be requested by email, and you can delete your account at any time from Settings. 9. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for children under 13. Accounts for users identified as minors (under 18, based on date of birth) automatically get stricter privacy defaults — private profile, hidden friends/likes/comments, no incoming messages from non-friends, and non-personalized ads once advertising is live. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13; if we learn we have, we will delete it.
10. Data Security
We use industry-standard practices (encrypted connections, access controls, row-level security on our database) to protect your data, but no system is perfectly secure — we can't guarantee absolute security.
11. International Transfers
Our backend infrastructure (Supabase) may store and process data in countries other than your own. By using the App, you consent to your data being transferred and processed internationally as necessary to operate the service.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
